In 2004, at Pitti Uomo, Belgian designer Veronique Branquinho deviated from her usual wardrobe-driven designs towards a conceptual collection rooted in the mountain-American aesthetic of David Lynch’s experimental crime series Twin Peaks. Drawing on the show’s styling, which predicted some of the aesthetic tenets of grunge before its explosion in popularity, Branquinho reworked textures and colors into a coherent men’s wardrobe.
